Apple Pay Officially Launches in the Philippines
Last Updated on August 4, 2026 by Melina Competiello
Apple users in the Philippines can now use Apple Pay, as the contactless payment service officially becomes available in the country. Starting today, customers can add eligible credit and debit cards from participating banks to the Apple Walletapp and use their iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, or Mac to make secure payments in stores, within apps, and online.
The launch gives Filipino consumers another convenient payment option while expanding Apple’s financial services across Southeast Asia.
A Faster Way to Pay

Apple Pay allows users to make purchases without reaching for a physical wallet. After adding an eligible card to Apple Wallet, customers can pay by simply holding their compatible Apple device near a contactless payment terminal.
For online shopping and in-app purchases, Apple Pay also streamlines the checkout process by eliminating the need to manually enter card information or shipping details each time.
Whether you’re grabbing coffee, shopping at a mall, or ordering food online, Apple Pay is designed to make transactions quicker and more convenient.
Security Remains a Key Feature
Apple says privacy and security remain at the center of Apple Pay.
Instead of storing or sharing actual card numbers during transactions, Apple Pay creates a unique device account number and uses an encrypted security code for every purchase. Additionally, every payment requires authentication through Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode before it can be completed.
If an Apple device is lost, users can also suspend Apple Pay remotely through the Find My app.
Initial Bank Support in the Philippines
Apple Pay launches with support from several major financial institutions in the Philippines, including:
- BDO
- BPI
- China Bank
- EastWest Bank
- GoTyme Bank
- HSBC Philippines
- Maya Bank
- Metrobank
- PNB
- Security Bank
- UnionBank
Support may vary depending on the card type, so customers should check with their bank to confirm whether their credit or debit card is eligible before adding it to Apple Wallet.
A Milestone for Digital Payments
The arrival of Apple Pay reflects the continued growth of digital and contactless payments in the Philippines. As more retailers, restaurants, and online merchants support tap-to-pay transactions, Apple users now have another secure way to complete everyday purchases.
Apple also noted that more banks and payment partners could join the service in the future, giving even more customers access to Apple Pay over time.
