Ben&Ben Revisits Its Beginnings With “Limasawa Street” CD and Vinyl

Nearly a decade into their music career, Ben&Ben is giving fans a new way to revisit the album that helped form their early sound.
The nine-piece Filipino band is releasing physical editions of its acclaimed 2019 debut studio album, Limasawa Street, on CD and vinyl.
First heard during a key stage in the group’s rise, the album introduced listeners to Ben&Ben’s lush folk-pop sound and heartfelt songwriting.
Now, its songs can live beyond streaming playlists and concert stages as records that fans can keep, display, and return to over time.
A Debut That Defined Ben&Ben’s Story
Limasawa Street was recorded while the band was still finding its footing.
The album captured an important moment for the group, bringing together the nine members in a full-length body of work even though the lineup was not yet technically complete when the earlier EP was recorded.
Ben&Ben looks back on that period with a strong sense of nostalgia.
“Sabi nga nila: you never forget your first. The energy we had going into creating our very first album was one of the things we would never forget about that era of ours. It was the first time we collectively immortalized our music together in a body of work as ‘nine,’ especially since we weren’t technically complete yet when the EP was recorded. Revisiting an album like that brings back so many memories of the entire creation process, especially our Limasawa Street tour. That album brought us to so many places; it introduced so many people to us and our music, and up to now all the songs remain near and dear to us.”
The band said creating its first album was an experience it would always remember. The record opened doors for the group, taking them to different places and introducing their music to a wider audience.
Among its standout tracks are “Pagtingin” and “Araw-Araw,” songs that became modern Filipino music favorites and continue to connect with listeners years later.
The album later earned multi-platinum certification from the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) and won Album of the Year at the 33rd Awit Awards. Its success brought Ben&Ben to audiences around the Philippines and Singapore through an extensive multi-city tour.
More Than a Record From the Past
For Ben&Ben, Limasawa Street was never simply a collection of songs. The album served as a snapshot of who they were at the time.
The band describes its first album as a work with “fresh ideals and a new heart, a new start.” It reflects the group’s belief that every album can act as a bookmark in life, capturing its feelings, beliefs, and views on love and life at a certain point.
Revisiting the 2019 record allows the members to hear the early stages of the sound they would continue developing. They also recognize the younger versions of themselves who took the risk of building something of their own.
A Physical Piece of Ben&Ben History
The CD and vinyl versions were remastered by Jett Galindo, which gives the album a fresh presentation for physical listening.
Ben&Ben has mostly shared its music through digital platforms and live shows, but the new physical release gives fans something they can hold, revisit, collect, and keep.
The group also expressed its own love for physical media, particularly vinyl. The members said finally having their own vinyl pressing feels surreal, especially after years of listeners waiting for something they could take home.
The group added that it remains excited for fans to finally have the album in a format they can collect and keep in their homes.
