Ziv and VVINK Turn Third-Wheeling Into a Pop Anthem With ‘Trisikulo’
Last Updated on October 16, 2026 by Over Here Toronto
Ziv and VVINK’s “Trisikulo” turns the awkward experience of being a third wheel into a playful pop anthem. Released via Sony Music Entertainment, the new single blends catchy melodies with a relatable question: “Kailan naman ako?” It celebrates friendship, young romance, and the wish to find someone of your own.
Inspired by the experience of tagging along with couples, “Trisikulo” brings humor to a situation many young Filipinos know too well.
‘Trisikulo’ Gives Third-Wheeling a Filipino Twist

The title plays on the Filipino word for a tricycle and its three wheels. It also captures the feeling of being the extra person in someone else’s love story.
For Ziv, the idea comes from real life. His friends and family often joke about his third-wheel status, giving him the inspiration to turn the experience into a song.
“I wanted to write about something that genuinely reflects where I am in life right now,” Ziv shares. “It’s funny because it’s genuinely what’s happening in my life, but at the same time, I realized there aren’t that many songs that talk about the experience of being a third wheel.”
Instead of turning that feeling into a sad love song, Ziv takes a lighter approach. The track balances the longing for romance with the fun of laughing at your own situation.
After all, being the third wheel does not mean you cannot enjoy the moment. Sometimes, it simply means waiting for your own love story to begin.
Ziv Blends J-Pop, K-Pop, and OPM Influences
“Trisikulo” builds on Ziv’s previous releases, “Kuryente” and “Walkie Talkie.” This time, he brings together several musical influences to create a lively, distinctly cross-cultural sound.
The single draws from different styles, including:
- J-pop: Melodic hooks and intricate pop arrangements.
- J-rock: Energetic instrumentation and a lively edge.
- K-pop: Polished production and catchy pop sensibilities.
- OPM: Filipino storytelling and relatable themes.
These influences come together in a production that sounds upbeat without losing the song’s emotional core.
Ziv also takes on production duties, shaping the track around its playful premise. Meanwhile, Jacques Jenkins handles mixing, and Luna Tebbs takes care of mastering.
The result is a pop track that makes room for both humor and vulnerability.
VVINK Brings Its Own Energy to the Collaboration
The collaboration also gives rising P-pop girl group VVINK another opportunity to show its versatility.
The group joins Ziv in turning a familiar experience into something lighthearted and easy to sing along to. Their chemistry also helped make the collaboration feel natural.
“One thing that surprised us was how quickly we clicked,” VVINK shares. “We became comfortable working with each other almost immediately, and everything flowed so smoothly that the creative process felt almost effortless.”
That connection gives “Trisikulo” its collaborative charm. Rather than feeling like two separate musical identities competing for attention, the track brings their personalities together.
VVINK also enters this collaboration with growing recognition in the local music scene.
The group won Best Novelty Recording at the 39th Awit Awards for “Baduy,” its collaboration with DJ Love featuring Pio Balbuena. The same track also won Pop Song of the Year at the 2026 Filipino Music Awards.
VVINK is also part of Spotify RADAR 2026, further expanding its presence in the P-pop scene.
Paolo Benjamin Guico and Angelika Samantha Ortiz Join the Songwriting Credits
“Trisikulo” brings together several creative voices behind the scenes.
Ziv co-wrote the song with Paolo Benjamin Guico of Ben&Ben and Angelika Samantha Ortiz, one of the songwriters behind BINI’s hit “Pantropiko.”
Their collaboration combines different perspectives on pop songwriting. At the same time, the track keeps its central idea simple and relatable.
The lyrics capture the familiar feeling of watching other people find love while wondering when your own turn will come.
That question gives the song its emotional anchor. Even with its playful delivery, “Trisikulo” speaks to anyone who has ever felt left out of a romantic moment.
Ziv and VVINK Prepare a Music Video for ‘Trisikulo’
The song’s playful concept will also extend to its upcoming official music video.
Ziv and VVINK are set to release the video through their respective YouTube channels. However, a premiere date has yet to be announced.
The visual will give listeners another way to experience the track’s take on third-wheeling, friendship, and young romance.
For now, fans can enjoy the single and its catchy take on one of the most relatable situations in a barkada.
