Regine Velasquez will retire some of her signature songs, she told fans during the second night of her sold-out “Finale” concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Oct. 18. Among them are “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing,” “On the Wings of Love” and “What Kind of Fool Am I.” The singer said age and changes in her voice have made these demanding numbers hard to perform. However, she clarified that she is not retiring from music. The three-night series celebrates her 40 years in the industry.

Night Two Highlights

The show featured a reunion with Jose Mari Chan for their 1989 duet, “Please Be Careful With My Heart.” Her husband, Ogie Alcasid, also joined her onstage for “Hanggang Ngayon.” Meanwhile, the night ended with a “Regine-oke” encore, where she sang “Shine,” “Dancing Queen” and “Crazy for You” on a golden bird float.
