Ben&Ben Submit “Leaves (Reimagined)” for 2027 Grammy Awards Consideration

Filipino folk-pop band Ben&Ben has submitted “Leaves (Reimagined)” for consideration in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category at the 2027 Grammy Awards.

The recording returns to one of the group’s earlier songs, with a message about forgiveness and healing after betrayal. Its submission marks another step in the band’s career, but it is not an official Grammy nomination.
The entry comes through Sony Music Entertainment Philippines. It follows the release of Nine, an anthology album that brings together music from different stages of the group’s journey.
Paolo Benjamin Revisits The Story Behind “Leaves”
Ben&Ben vocalist Paolo Benjamin wrote “Leaves” after an unexpected hurt involving someone close to him. He has shared how the song helped him work through difficult feelings.
In a statement accompanying the submission, Benjamin described facing a choice between ending the relationship and forgiving the person involved. “I chose to forgive,” he said.
Returning to the song years later has given him an opportunity to speak about that decision from a different stage of life. He hopes listeners will consider how forgiveness can bring a measure of freedom, even when the decision feels difficult.
He also recognizes that being hurt by someone close can make moving forward especially complicated. The newer recording does not present forgiveness as an easy answer. Instead, Benjamin’s reflections acknowledge the work involved in reaching it.
Benjamin said the song has supported him through some of his hardest periods. That history helps explain the personal significance of the track chosen for the Grammy submission.
What The Grammy Submission Means
According to the band’s October 14 announcement, its label submitted “Leaves (Reimagined)” for consideration by Recording Academy voters. The Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category covers pop recordings by duos, groups and collaborators.
The first round of voting runs from October 12 to 22, 2026. This stage determines the nominees, which the Recording Academy will announce on November 16.
The 69th Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles. An entry submitted for consideration is different from an official nomination, and Ben&Ben has not been announced as a nominee.
The Recording Academy has published its full voting calendar for readers following the awards process.
“Leaves (Reimagined)” Is Part Of The Album Nine
The updated song also appears on Nine, Ben&Ben’s nine-track anthology album, released in September 2026. The group describes it as a letter to listeners and a tribute to the friendships behind its music.
The album looks across nine years of Ben&Ben, combining fresh recordings of earlier material with more recent songs. The title also reflects the nine musicians who have performed together in the group.
Alongside “Leaves (Reimagined),” it includes new versions of “Ride Home,” “Maybe the Night,” “Sunrise,” “Doors,” “Autumn” and “Lifetime.” The collection also features the 2026 song “Saranggola” and the newer track “Harinawa.”
For longtime listeners, Nine brings familiar songwriting into the band’s current chapter. Others can use the album to hear several pieces of its catalogue in one release.
The New Version Reached tThe Smart Araneta Coliseum Stage
Ben&Ben performed all nine songs from Nine at Saranggola: The Concert on October 2. The event took place at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City and sold out, according to the band’s press release.
“Leaves (Reimagined)” appeared on the setlist, taking the song from the studio to a large live audience. The concert came shortly after the September album release.
The group has built a following through songs that deal with relationships, hope and personal change. Revisiting “Leaves” connects that familiar storytelling with a new recording and an awards-season submission.
When Will Fans Hear The Grammy Decision?
The single became available on August 27, 2026, according to its streaming listing. That date falls within the Recording Academy’s eligibility period, which ended on August 28.
Fans can listen to “Leaves (Reimagined)” on digital music platforms. The next official Grammy update is the November 16 nominations announcement, when the Recording Academy will reveal which entries advance.
