Produced by Universal Records, the collection combines familiar songs from several labels. It is a career-spanning selection, not a new album of unreleased music.

The record made its debut at an October 23 launch at The Millas Hostel in Cubao, Quezon City. Fans looking for a copy can now find listings from Philippine vinyl shops.

Eleven songs from three record labels

Following an artist for nearly three decades can mean keeping track of songs spread across different releases. This collection brings recordings originally issued through Universal Records, Sony Music and Star Music onto one LP.

The lineup also puts several kinds of collaboration side by side. ‘Bagsakan’ brings Parokya ni Edgar and Francis M into the mix, while ‘Takipsilim’ features Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

Other tracks pair Gloc-9 with Gary Valenciano, Rico Blanco and Skusta Clee. Together, the selections show how his storytelling has worked alongside voices from different corners of Philippine music.

The Stories Behind The Familiar Tracks

‘Sirena,’ featuring Ebe Dancel, tells the story of a gay man confronting judgment. ‘Upuan,’ with Jeazell Grutas, questions the divide between people in power and the public affected by their decisions.

‘Magda,’ featuring Rico Blanco, adds another character-led narrative. These songs reflect an approach that Gloc-9 has returned to throughout his career: telling stories through people and the pressures around them.

The record has a different pace on ‘Bagsakan,’ where he joins Parokya ni Edgar and Francis M. There is also ‘Lando’ with Francis M and ‘Kumpisal’ with Skusta Clee, connecting performers from different periods of local hip-hop.

Rather than choosing one song to represent 29 years, the collection gives listeners several entry points into his writing. It also leaves room for the collaborations that helped those songs reach wider audiences.

A Vinyl Debut That Brings His Career Full Circle

At the October 23 launch, Gloc-9 spoke about listening to his parents’ records as a child. Billboard Philippines reported that their collection included artists such as ABBA, Tom Jones and Madonna.

His own recordings are now available in that format. The LP lets listeners play the selection across two sides, in a fixed order, rather than moving between individual tracks on a streaming playlist.

He has also been speaking about what comes next for Filipino rap. At the launch, Gloc-9 said younger artists should develop their own styles rather than feel pressured to follow his.

That perspective gives the anniversary a forward-looking note. The vinyl revisits older material, but the artist is still taking part in the conversation around Philippine hip-hop.

Where to Buy The Mga Ani ni Gloc-9 vinyl

When checked on October 27, 2026, Satchmi listed the vinyl at ₱3,450 and marked it in stock. Backspacer Records listed it at ₱3,500 but showed a sold-out status.
