The Beauty Loop Lets You Recycle Empty Beauty Packaging at Opus Mall in Quezon City
Last Updated on October 14, 2026 by Jaskaran Singh
The Beauty Loop is a new way to deal with the empty bottles, tubes and jars piling up in your bathroom. The pilot program collects empty beauty packaging from any brand at Opus Mall in Bridgetowne, Quezon City. It is run by Filipino skincare brand Habitude with The Beauty Edit, Spatio and Greencycle Innovative Solutions. Every drop-off is tracked, and Greencycle reports how each material is processed. So instead of tossing your empties, you can now make sure they get a second life.

The Beauty Loop Drop-Off Details
- Where: The Beauty Edit Gallery inside Spatio, Opus Mall, Bridgetowne, Quezon City
- Brands accepted: Packaging from any beauty brand
- Cost: Free
- Status: Pilot program
What You Can Drop Off
The program accepts beauty packaging that is empty, rinsed and dry. That includes:
- Bottles and tubes
- Jars
- Product boxes and outer cartons
How It Works
First, scan the QR code at the collection point and fill out a short form. Each registered visit then gets a reference ID, so your drop-off can be tracked.
After collection, Greencycle sorts and processes the materials. It also shares reports on how much was collected and where each type went.
Where the Packaging Goes
- Rigid plastics (HDPE and PP): turned into products like sacks and twine
- Hard-to-recycle materials: sent to cement plants as fuel substitutes
- Glass: sent to a partner facility for repurposing
- Paper and cardboard: sent to a partner paper mill
Why It Matters
According to the organizers, the global beauty industry makes about 120 billion units of packaging a year. However, only 9% of it gets recycled.
Since this is a pilot, the team designed the process so other brands and malls can copy it. If it works, more drop-off points could open around Metro Manila. For now, The Beauty Loop is an easy first step for anyone who wants a greener beauty routine.
