Araneta City is holding breast cancer awareness activities this October through its “Beyond the Pink Ribbon: Recognizing the People Behind Every Story” campaign. The program brings together health screenings, fitness activities, educational sessions, and art to support patients and survivors while encouraging early detection.

The campaign runs in partnership with the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) and the Love Hope Dream Foundation (LHDF). Several activities are scheduled from October 18 to 20, 2026, across Araneta City in Cubao, Quezon City.

Araneta City Organizes Activities Beyond the Pink Ribbon

The campaign highlights the people affected by breast cancer, including patients, survivors, families, and healthcare professionals. It also encourages more open conversations about breast health and access to support.

According to Araneta City’s official announcement, the program focuses on early detection, health education, and recognizing the role of communities in supporting people affected by cancer.

One part of the campaign is Screening for Wellness, a free screening program organized with PCS. The breast cancer screening took place on October 15, while prostate cancer screening is scheduled for October 19. The program is intended to give members of the Araneta City community access to early detection services.

Participants who complete their screenings will also receive points through the Araneta Rewards program, according to the announcement.

aRUneta Run Club Supports Patients and Survivors on October 18

On Sunday, October 18, Araneta City will hold Moving for Fitness, a special edition of the aRUneta Run Club.

The activity will take place at the Green Gate of Smart Araneta Coliseum. It will feature a morning run and dance warm-ups in support of breast cancer patients and survivors.

Participants are encouraged to wear pink to show their support for people affected by the disease. The event also brings health and community participation together through physical activity.

Those planning to attend can check Araneta City’s official updates for the latest event information before heading to Cubao.

Free Cancer Awareness Session Set for October 19

Education is another part of the campaign. On Monday, October 19, Learning Through Awareness will take place at Gateway Mall 1.

Organized with PCS and LHDF, the session will cover cancer prevention, early detection, common misconceptions about breast cancer, and available support resources.

The discussion is intended to help people better understand breast health and make informed decisions about seeking medical guidance. It also provides a space for conversations about cancer that can be difficult to start at home or within the community.

For people who want reliable information about breast cancer, health education and discussions with qualified healthcare professionals can help address questions and clarify misconceptions.

Healing Through Art Runs From October 19 to 20

The campaign will also include Healing Through Art, an art workshop and two-day exhibit scheduled for October 19 and 20.

The activity will involve patients and survivors invited by LHDF. It highlights creative expression as one way for participants to share their stories, process their experiences, and connect with others who understand the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

The art component recognizes that support can extend beyond medical care. Emotional well-being and a sense of connection can also matter during recovery.

People interested in viewing the exhibit should check with Araneta City for public access details, as the announcement identifies invited patients and survivors as the workshop participants.
