CHIVAN and MINH at SONIK Philippines 2026 put two Vietnamese artists into a Manila showcase designed to connect local musicians with the wider Asian music business.

The conference and festival ran September 11 and 12 at Green Sun Hotel in Makati. Talks on distribution, licensing, marketing and audience development led into two nights of live sets by Filipino and international performers.

Two Vietnamese Artists Joined Separate Showcase Nights

MINH performed on the first night, while CHIVAN appeared in the second-night lineup. Billboard Philippines listed both artists among a bill spanning the Philippines, Taiwan, Australia, Canada, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Their appearances were supported by CisuMusiC, a Vietnam-based platform that works across showcases, festivals, livehouse tours, fan communities and media. The Manila dates gave both artists a direct introduction to Philippine listeners and industry professionals rather than a remote promotional campaign.

SONIK Paired Live Sets With Practical Industry Exchange

SONIK Philippines was founded in 2019 as a music conference and showcase focused on export and exchange. Its 2026 program brought managers, producers, artists and other music professionals into the same rooms as the public performances.

Onstage, the local lineup included Itchyworms, One Click Straight, Novocrane, MEI MEI, Dia Maté and Morobeats. The release says SID opened the first showcase day and Itchyworms closed it with a sing-along, while the conference sessions examined how artists can reach audiences outside their home market.

That mix matters because regional growth rarely comes from one performance alone. Conversations about licensing, touring, marketing and audience development can turn a short festival appearance into working relationships that continue after the stage is cleared.

CisuMusiC is Building Routes Across Asian Markets

CisuMusiC describes its network as extending through Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and other markets. Its work is built around moving artists between local scenes and connecting them with audiences, organizers and music companies.

The organization also sees the Philippines as a two-way route. Bringing Vietnamese acts to Makati is one part of that plan; creating openings for Filipino artists and industry partners elsewhere in Asia would be the next step.

No new Philippine partnership or outbound artist program was announced with this release. For now, the strongest evidence of the relationship is the practical one: CHIVAN and MINH performed on SONIK’s international bill and met a local industry audience in person.

The Visit Adds Another Link to Manila’s Regional Music Circuit

Manila already supports a wide range of live rooms, independent stages and large concert venues. Over Here Manila’s guide to live music spots in the city offers a useful view of the local spaces that keep that audience active between major showcase events.

SONIK works at a different level by pairing performance with export strategy. CisuMusiC’s participation shows how that format can bring neighboring music scenes into contact, one artist slot and one industry conversation at a time.
