ShopeeFood Starts Limited Metro Manila Rollout Inside the Shopee App

ShopeeFood Philippines has started a limited rollout in Metro Manila through the main Shopee app. The food delivery service went live on September 16, 2026. For now, only selected users and areas can access it.
The launch gives Metro Manila diners another food delivery option alongside GrabFood and foodpanda. However, ShopeeFood is not yet open across the whole country. Even some users in Metro Manila may not see the service in their app yet.
ShopeeFood PH said in its launch update, “Now available in selected Metro Manila cities, with more coming soon.” The company also said it plans to add more areas and users over time.
As of September 18, Shopee has not released a full list of cities covered by the first rollout. REVU Philippines also reported that it asked Shopee for the exact locations included in the launch.
How ShopeeFood Works in the Philippines
ShopeeFood works inside the main Shopee app. Users do not need to download another app or make a new account.
Users with access can open ShopeeFood or the Food tab. From there, they can choose a restaurant, pick food, enter or confirm an address, select a payment method, and place an order.
Shopee shared the same basic order steps before the Philippine launch.
The service also connects with tools that many Shopee users already have. Reports from REVU Philippines and YugaTech say customers can use ShopeePay and eligible Shopee Coins when ordering.
Still, the choices shown in the app may differ from one user to another. A restaurant that appears for one address may not appear for another.
Users should check the app before ordering. Delivery fees, store hours, restaurant choices, and promo rules can change based on the address and order.
Which Restaurants Are on ShopeeFood
ShopeeFood started with several food chains that many Metro Manila customers already know.
YugaTech and REVU Philippines reported the following names in the early restaurant lineup:
- McDonald’s
- Pizza Hut
- Domino’s
- Taco Bell
- Dairy Queen
- Krispy Kreme
- Potato Corner
The list does not mean every branch of these restaurants is available.
A user’s address can affect which stores appear in the app. Store hours and the delivery area of each branch can also affect the list.
Shopee may add more restaurants as the service reaches more users and places.
Some Metro Manila Users Still May Not See ShopeeFood
The September 16 launch is still limited.
REVU reported that ShopeeFood is reaching only a select group of users. The ShopeeFood PH page also told users that access depends on both their location and account.
Because of this, two people in Metro Manila may see different things when they open Shopee.
One may already have the Food tab. Another may not see ShopeeFood at all.
That does not always mean there is a problem with the app.
YugaTech reported on September 17 that ShopeeFood still had limited access in Metro Manila. Shopee plans to add more users and areas in stages.
As of September 18, Shopee has not announced a date for full Metro Manila access.
The company has also not given a date for a full Philippine rollout.
ShopeeFood Adds Another Option to the Delivery Market
ShopeeFood joins a Philippine food delivery market that already includes GrabFood and foodpanda.
The new service takes a different path by placing food orders inside an app that many people already use for online shopping.
Shopee has used a similar setup in other countries. REVU and YugaTech note that ShopeeFood also works inside the Shopee app in markets such as Indonesia.
For Philippine users, this means shopping and food delivery can sit under one account.
ShopeePay and Shopee Coins also give existing users more ways to use tools already linked to their Shopee profile.
Still, it is too early to tell how the new service will compare with other food delivery apps in daily use. Restaurant choices and coverage remain limited during the first days of the rollout.
What to Check Before Placing an Order
Users who want to try ShopeeFood should first open the latest version of the Shopee app.
Look for ShopeeFood or the Food tab. If it does not appear, the service may not yet cover that account or location.
Before placing an order, users can check:
- the correct delivery address
- available restaurants
- food prices
- delivery fees
- Shopee Coins that can be used
- ShopeePay payment options
- voucher terms
- the final order total
Promos may also differ between accounts. A deal shown to one person may not be available to another.
Users should rely on the details shown inside their own Shopee app before paying.
For now, ShopeeFood remains a limited Metro Manila service. The next key update will be a wider coverage list from Shopee.
Until then, the easiest way to check access is to open the Shopee app and see if ShopeeFood appears for the account and delivery address.
