DAELUX Makes P-Pop Pre-Debut With New Single ‘Like That’
Last Updated on September 25, 2026 by Over Here Toronto
DAELUX’s “Like That” is out now, introducing the Davao-based girl group with a bright P-pop track about the excitement—and confusion—that comes with catching feelings. Released on September 25, 2026, the pre-debut single marks DAELUX’s first music release since joining Sony Music Philippines.
The seven-member group brings youthful pop energy to a familiar question: does the person you like actually like you back?
“Like That” Turns Mixed Signals Into a Feel-Good P-Pop Track

“Like That” focuses on that awkward but exciting stage when a crush starts feeling like something more.
The song follows the uncertainty of reading small gestures, wondering whether feelings are mutual, and trying to understand where a possible relationship is going. Instead of turning those mixed signals into heartbreak, DAELUX keeps the track light, playful, and optimistic.
“We were drawn to this theme because the feeling of liking someone and trying to figure out where you stand is something a lot of people can relate to,” the group shares.
That relatable approach gives the single its youthful charm. There is excitement, overthinking, hope, and just enough frustration to make the story feel familiar to anyone who has ever tried to decode a crush.
DAELUX Wants Listeners to Be Honest About Their Feelings
Beyond the kilig, “Like That” also carries a message about being confident enough to express genuine emotions.
The group says the song encourages listeners not to let fear of rejection stop them from communicating how they feel.
“We think one of the biggest messages of the song is not to be afraid of truly expressing what you feel toward another person,” DAELUX explains. “It’s okay to be vulnerable, as long as you also know your worth and what you truly deserve.”
That balance between vulnerability and confidence is central to the group’s early identity.
DAELUX presents a playful, free-spirited side while leaving room for softer emotions. For a pre-debut track, “Like That” gives listeners an early idea of how the group plans to approach stories about relationships, self-expression, and growing up.
Who Are the Members of DAELUX?

DAELUX is a seven-member P-pop girl group from Davao currently composed of:
- CK
- Alice
- Ara
- Rhya
- Slane
- Zyra
- Riri
Current group profiles list all seven members under DAELUX, with the act associated with Sony Music Philippines and Davao-based management.
Sony Music Philippines first announced DAELUX in December 2025 as one of three Davao-based idol groups preparing new music for 2026. The announcement also included girl group HARA and boy group AYO.
The group’s name itself reflects its roots and concept. “Dae” comes from “day,” a Bisaya term of endearment for girls, while “lux” means “light” in Latin, combining playful local identity with the idea of brightness.
“Like That” Was Built Around DAELUX’s Own Style
“Like That” was produced by Pao Lofranco, with AndreaH joining as co-writer.
According to the group, the members also contributed ideas during the songwriting and development process. The song went through several revisions as DAELUX worked with its production team and label to make sure the final version matched the group’s personality.
The vocal arrangement also received close attention.
DAELUX worked with vocal coach Ma’am Shelley on the harmonies and distribution of individual parts. The goal was to let each member bring her own vocal quality to the track while keeping the overall sound cohesive.
For the recording, the members tried to return to the more innocent feeling of experiencing love without always knowing what to do next.
That approach helps explain the song’s bright melodies, upbeat delivery, and youthful personality.
DAELUX Adds Another Davao Voice to the Growing P-Pop Scene

DAELUX’s arrival also highlights how P-pop continues to develop outside Metro Manila.
When Sony Music Philippines introduced its incoming acts for 2026, DAELUX, HARA, and AYO were all identified as groups coming from Davao. BusinessWorld also included DAELUX among Sony Music Entertainment’s new artists being positioned for releases this year.
For DAELUX, those hometown roots extend beyond the members.
The team involved in developing the group’s music and performance visuals is also rooted in Davao, giving the act an opportunity to build its identity within the city’s own creative community rather than centering every part of the project in Manila.
That makes “Like That” more than simply a first single. It is also an early look at another Mindanao-based act entering the wider Philippine idol scene.
DAELUX Begins Its Sony Music Philippines Chapter
“Like That” is the group’s first official music release since its partnership with Sony Music Philippines.
“Being part of Sony Music is a huge opportunity for us,” DAELUX shares. “It gives us the chance to learn, grow, and take our music more seriously as artists.”
For the seven members, the partnership also means introducing their Davao-grown sound and identity to listeners beyond their home city.
The group remains in its pre-debut phase, making “Like That” an introduction rather than its formal debut. Current profiles still list DAELUX as a pre-debut act, while the group’s recent social posts specifically identify “Like That” as its pre-debut single.
