SM Nuvali Opens November 27 With a One-Hectare Indoor Garden in Santa Rosa, Laguna

SM Nuvali will open its doors on November 27, 2026. The new mall is in the Nuvali community in Santa Rosa, Laguna. Its biggest feature is a one-hectare indoor garden right at the centre of the mall.
SM Supermalls calls it its flagship mall. In fact, it will be SM Prime’s 91st mall and its fifth, and largest, SM mall in Laguna.
Inside the SM Nuvali Indoor Garden
The garden covers about one hectare, and it sits right in the middle of the mall. Unlike most outdoor gardens, this one is air-conditioned. To keep it cool, SM used technology similar to Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay.
The design uses a two-layer membrane system. Sunlight still comes in, but much of the heat gets trapped between the two layers. As a result, less heat reaches the plants and shoppers below. On top of that, the system works together with the mall’s air-conditioning.
Around the garden, there will be casual dining restaurants. So, shoppers can enjoy a meal while looking out at the greenery.

Shops, Cinemas and More
SM Nuvali is a big mall. It has about 190,000 square metres of floor area, which makes it the largest mall in Santa Rosa and in Laguna. Inside, there will be an SM Supermarket and an SM Store.
For entertainment, the third floor will have seven cinemas, including IMAX with Laser and Director’s Club cinemas. Meanwhile, SM Game Park will be on the second floor. Instead of a regular food court, the mall will also have an upscale food hall.
Later on, a Park Inn by Radisson hotel and an SMX Convention Center will connect to the mall by a bridgeway. The hotel is targeted to open in 2029.
Green Features
The mall also has several eco-friendly features. For instance, it uses solar panels, water recycling and energy-efficient lighting across more than 82,000 square metres of leasable space. In addition, there are 24 electric vehicle charging stations. Shoppers will also find a Trash-to-Cash recycling program and an e-waste collection area.
What SM Supermalls Said
SM Supermalls president Steven Tan spoke about the company’s plans in September. “Innovation is key. Innovation, again, is not a one-time bigtime thing,” Tan said, as reported by GMA News.
He also said the company is “quite optimistic with all these new investments and all these new technologies.”
SM Nuvali is also part of a bigger plan. Earlier this year, SM opened its 90th mall, SM Zamboanga. Now, SM Supermalls aims to reach 100 malls by 2028.
SM Nuvali opens on November 27, 2026. Store lists and opening day plans have not been fully shared yet. Because of this, it is a good idea to check SM Supermalls’ official pages before you visit.
