Philippine Airlines Starts Nonstop Manila to Chicago Flights on November 9
Last Updated on November 5, 2026 by Jaskaran Singh
Flying from Manila to Chicago is about to get easier. Philippine Airlines (PAL) will start nonstop flights between Manila and Chicago O’Hare on Monday, November 9, 2026, InsiderPH reported.
Before this, travellers had to connect through another city. Now, they can fly straight there on one of the longest routes in PAL’s network.

Philippine Airlines Manila to Chicago Flight Schedule
The flights will run three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, in both directions. Flight PR132 leaves Manila at 4:40 p.m. and lands in Chicago at 4:45 p.m. local time, One Mile at a Time reported.
On the way back, flight PR133 leaves Chicago at 10:45 p.m. Then, it lands in Manila at 5:25 a.m., two days later. The trip takes about 14 hours to the United States and almost 17 hours back to Manila.
What Plane PAL Will Use
PAL will fly the route with its Airbus A350-900. The plane has 295 seats, including 30 in business class, 24 in premium economy and 241 in economy, according to One Mile at a Time. In addition, all cabins come with full-service meals, InsiderPH reported.

What PAL’s President Said
PAL president Richard Nuttall explained why the airline picked Chicago. “Chicago is considered one of the premier hubs in the United States,” he said, according to SunStar. He also said that “serving the Chicago–Manila corridor will create vital links to key regional destinations,” InsiderPH reported.
Where Else PAL Flies in the US
Chicago will be PAL’s eighth destination in the United States and its territories, SunStar reported. The others are Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Guam and Saipan. So, the new route gives Filipino families in the Midwest a much shorter trip home.
Tips for Booking Your Philippine Airlines Chicago Flight
First, book early if you plan to fly during Christmas, since holiday seats sell out fast. Next, compare fares for Monday, Wednesday and Friday flights, because prices can change by day. Also, check your baggage allowance before you pack, especially if you are bringing pasalubong. Finally, give yourself extra time at the airport, since long-haul flights often have earlier check-in cutoffs.
What Happens Next
The first flight takes off on November 9, just in time for the holiday travel season. So, if you are planning a trip to see family or friends in Chicago, check PAL’s website for seats and fares before they fill up.
