Cangrejos Locos Reignites Alabang with Its Signature Spanish Paella
Alabang food lovers have a reason to celebrate. Cangrejos Locos, a name many remember for its “crazy crabs” and traditional Spanish paella, has made a comeback. The restaurant, which previously closed its Molito location during the pandemic, has opened its doors again. You can now find it at Alabang West Parade along Daang Hari.

The new location is just a stone’s throw from its original home. It brings back the familiar Spanish comfort food that South Manila foodies have missed.
A New Chapter with a Familiar Feel
The team behind the restaurant, Chef-owner Robby Goco and restaurateur Raymund Magdaluyo, wanted to keep the dining experience relaxed and fun. The new space is colourful and welcoming. It invites guests to gather, share food, and enjoy a good meal without any fuss. The focus is squarely on high-quality Spanish dishes served in a casual setting.
Must-Try Dishes on the Menu

Cangrejos Locos offers a menu packed with Spanish classics and specialties. It is designed for sharing and sampling.
Some popular starters include the Gambas al Ajillo (₱398) and Calamares Fritos (₱350). For something heartier, the Callos ala Manolo (₱385) and the Salpicado con Medulla (₱598) are excellent choices.
The restaurant lives up to its name with a generous seafood selection. You can get crabs by the kilo (₱149/100g) or by the bucket (₱2,199). They come in different sauces, like the buttery Ala Roberto or the flavourful Chorizo Sofrito. Another standout is the Slipper Lobster al Ajillo (₱1,998).
Meat lovers will also find plenty to enjoy. The menu features a tender roast beef belly (₱935) and a crispy Pollo Frito Loco (₱499). For steak fans, the Wagyu rump sirloin with romesco sauce (₱998/250g) is a great pick.
The Famous Paella

The paella is the main attraction at Cangrejos Locos. It is cooked in the traditional Spanish style, with a thin layer of rice that helps create the prized socarrat. This is the crispy, toasted rice at the bottom of the pan.
You can order it with rice or with fideuà , which are thin Spanish noodles. There are several versions to choose from:
- Carne Asada con Medulla (from ₱1,055): A rich paella with USDA short plate and bone marrow.
- Mariscos (from ₱998): A seafood-heavy option with saffron, fish, shrimp, crabs, and mussels.
- Valenciana (from ₱978): A classic with chicken and green beans.
- Negra (from ₱998): Made with a squid ink base for a deep sea flavour.
- Slipper Lobster Special (from ₱1,399): A luxurious choice for seafood fans.
Drinks and Final Thoughts
No Spanish meal is complete without a refreshing drink. The restaurant offers pitchers of Sangria and cold Cerveza. Both are great pairings for the rich flavours of the food.
The return of Cangrejos Locos is welcome news for the Alabang community. It marks the revival of a spot dedicated to bringing people together over honest, well-made Spanish food.
