If you are a serious foodie, you are going to want to pay attention. Hotel Okura Manila is currently hosting a very exclusive three-night-only dining event called “SAGA: A Wagyu Tasting Journey.” It is happening from November 10 to 12, 2025, at the Yawaragi Restaurant in Newport World Resorts.

This is not just a regular dinner. It is a special seven-course event that celebrates one of Japan’s most famous beef varieties, Saga Wagyu. Four master Japanese chefs are all working together on this one menu, promising an evening of incredible precision and flavor.

A Rare Collaboration of Culinary Masters

The reason this is such a big deal is the “eight-hands” team in the kitchen. The collaboration is led by Chef Minoru Takashima from Hotel Nikko Osaka, a chef so renowned, he has even cooked for the Emperor Emeritus of Japan.

He is joined by Hotel Okura Manila’s own powerhouse team from Yamazato:

  • Chef Keiichiro Fujino, the Executive Chef with over 40 years of experience in the art of kaiseki.
  • Chef Ikuma Sato, the Specialty Sushi Chef known for his perfect precision.
  • Chef Katsuji Kato, the Specialty Teppan Chef who is an expert at grilling the finest Wagyu.

Together, these four masters have designed a seven-course menu that highlights six different premium cuts of Wagyu. It is all about showcasing that buttery texture and delicate marbling that makes Saga Wagyu a global treasure. Each course is also paired with carefully selected sake to make the flavors pop.

An Elevated Dining Experience

This is definitely a special occasion splurge. For ₱₱₱₱ per person, the seven-course tasting menu gives you all the curated drink pairings. You enjoy a fantastic chance to experience Japan’s culinary excellence right here in Manila. The whole dinner transports you straight to the Saga Prefecture through taste and technique.
