Mini-Me Reading Chairs Launch at Seven Megaworld Lifestyle Malls
Last Updated on September 17, 2026 by Martina Ericka Berania
Seven Megaworld Lifestyle Malls are introducing new Mini-Me rocking chairs designed for young readers as part of a reading project that brings children and their grandparents together.
The chairs were launched on September 9, 2026, at the Uptown Mall Atrium in Bonifacio Global City. The project is called “Read to Lead” and was created by Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and S.I.L.Y.A., or Sa Iyo Lolo at Lola Yantok Aming Alay.
The new chairs are smaller versions of S.I.L.Y.A.’s signature rocking chairs. They are made for children aged 10 and below and are placed beside the larger chairs so children can sit with their grandparents while reading or talking.

Where to Find the Mini-Me Chairs
The Mini-Me chairs will be available at seven Megaworld Lifestyle Malls:
- Uptown Bonifacio
- Eastwood City
- Venice Grand Canal
- Lucky Chinatown
- San Lorenzo Place Mall
- Southwoods Mall
- Twin Lakes
Uptown Bonifacio and Eastwood City will also have reading lounges created with Biblio. These spaces include mini-libraries where children can borrow and read books on-site.
The reading lounges are designed to give families a place to spend time together while enjoying books and stories.
Reading and Storytelling
The September 9 launch included a storytelling session led by Rey Bufi, founder of The Storytelling Project.
Young learners from Maple Bear Canadian Preschool also joined the activity at Uptown Bonifacio.
Bufi read “Saan-Saan,” a children’s story written by Russell Molina. The story follows siblings Hiraya and Likha as they travel through different worlds aboard a magical space-dyip.
The Storytelling Project has been running reading and storytelling programs in communities across the Philippines since 2012.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and S.I.L.Y.A. said the project aims to make reading a shared activity between grandparents and grandchildren.
More S.I.L.Y.A. Chairs
The project also includes painted S.I.L.Y.A. rocking chairs at Festive Walk Iloilo and Alabang West Parade.
Local artists created the designs for these chairs as part of the initiative’s focus on Filipino art and community.
The Mini-Me chairs and reading lounges give children another place to read while visiting the malls. Families can check the official Megaworld Lifestyle Malls channels for updates on the program and participating locations.
The project comes as part of activities for Grandparents’ Day and continues the partnership between Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and S.I.L.Y.A.
