Siargao’s First Food & Wine Festival Is Happening This August

· · · · · ·

From August 14 to 20, 2025, Siargao will host its first-ever Food & Wine Festival, a seven-day celebration of flavor, culture, and community. Known as the country’s surfing capital, the island is now set to showcase another side of its identity—one deeply rooted in food, sustainability, and people.

Tourism with Intention

The Siargao Food & Wine Festival (SFWF) is more than a culinary event. It highlights the socio-economic impact of tourism and how intentional food experiences can strengthen local supply chains, preserve heritage, and sustain livelihoods across the island’s nine municipalities.

By bringing together chefs, carinderia cooks, farmers, foragers, and creatives, the festival aims to spark meaningful conversations on sustainability, responsible hospitality, and the future of Siargao’s food culture.

A Weeklong Celebration of Food and Culture

Over the course of seven days, visitors can expect 30+ culinary collaborators, eight main events, and multiple pocket experiences. These range from interactive dining to guided crawls that spotlight the island’s diverse culinary landscape.

Signature Festival Experiences

  • LayLow Coffee Crawl – A self-guided tour of Siargao’s café scene, featuring partner coffee shops and baristas.
  • Suroy Suroy sa Karinderya – A journey through beloved carinderias, sampling signature dishes and meeting the families who run them.
  • Special Dinners and Collaborations – From intimate fine dining menus to casual pizza nights, each event champions local produce and creativity.

Why It Matters

The SFWF celebrates the people powering Siargao’s tourism economy—farmers, fisherfolk, family-run eateries, baristas, chefs, distillers, and artisans. It’s an invitation to connect with the island through its flavors, give back meaningfully, and leave responsibly.
