Bicolana rapper XYVRL brought her “Swagapina” sound to Smart Araneta Coliseum during the PBA halftime show on Friday, August 14.
The performance took place during the matchup between the Meralco Bolts and Barangay Ginebra, giving XYVRL a major live platform in front of thousands of basketball fans.
Her set featured “Scottie T” and her latest release, “SBAPN,” bringing together hip-hop, basketball culture, and Filipino crowd energy in one arena moment.

From the Stands to the Halftime Stage
XYVRL’s Araneta performance carried a personal connection.
In June, she attended a Ginebra Finals game at the same venue. While watching from the crowd, she shared that she hoped to perform at halftime there someday.
Only a few months later, that goal happened.
This made the PBA appearance more than a regular live set. It marked a major step in XYVRL’s rise as an artist and placed her in the same venue where she had once spoken about that goal as a fan.
“Scottie T” Gets Its Full-Circle Moment

The night also brought XYVRL face-to-face with Barangay Ginebra player Scottie Thompson, the athlete behind her track “Scottie T.”
Thompson acknowledged the song and thanked XYVRL for making a track connected to him.
For XYVRL, the meeting added another layer to the performance. She performed “Scottie T” inside the same arena where Thompson and Ginebra have built many of their major basketball moments.
The track has become one of XYVRL’s key releases, connecting her music with the Ginebra fan community and the energy of Philippine basketball.
SBAPN Shows XYVRL’s Current Sound
Along with “Scottie T,” XYVRL also performed “SBAPN,” short for “Super Baddie And Pretty Naman.”
The track shows her current direction through a mix of budots and hip-hop. It keeps the playful confidence tied to her “Swagapina” identity while pushing her sound into a bigger live setting.
By bringing “SBAPN” to the PBA halftime stage, XYVRL gave the release a new platform and introduced it to basketball fans beyond her usual music audience.
A Bigger Stage for Bicolana Hip-Hop
XYVRL’s PBA halftime debut reflects her growing place in Philippine hip-hop.
Her performance connected music, sports, and fan culture while also highlighting her Bicolana roots and Filipino style.
With “Scottie T,” “SBAPN,” and her Araneta Coliseum debut, XYVRL continues to build her path as one of the rising voices in the local rap scene.
