SB19 and Kento Nakajima Release “GENTO” Collaboration After SUMMER SONIC Performance
Last Updated on October 31, 2026 by Over Here Toronto
SB19 and Japanese singer-actor Kento Nakajima have released their collaborative version of “GENTO,” bringing their SUMMER SONIC 2026 performance to digital music platforms worldwide. The track, titled “GENTO feat. Kento Nakajima,” became available on October 30 through Sony Music Entertainment.
The release follows their joint performance at SUMMER SONIC 2026 in Tokyo on August 15, where Nakajima joined the Filipino group onstage for the first live presentation of the collaboration.

From a TikTok Project to a Full Collaboration
The partnership began with the “GENTO with Kento Nakajima” TikTok project, filmed during SB19’s visit to Japan in 2025. The social media project gained attention and eventually led to the production of an official version featuring the Japanese artist.
For SB19, “GENTO” remains one of its signature tracks and its most-streamed solo song in Japan, according to the group’s announcement. The new version retains the song’s themes of success, hard work, and proving one’s worth while introducing Nakajima’s own interpretation.
Nakajima also contributed some of the collaboration’s lyrics, giving him a direct role in shaping the new version.
Kento Nakajima Adds New Lyrics to SB19’s Hit
Both acts shared their thoughts on working together following the release.
SB19 said the project reminded them of music’s ability to connect with people. The members also explained that the message behind “GENTO” remains relevant, even years after its original release.
The group described Nakajima as a natural fit for the song. Their previous meeting and reunion at SUMMER SONIC gave them a chance to see how he connects with audiences and carries the energy behind the track.
Nakajima, meanwhile, said the collaboration had drawn interest beyond the fan communities of both acts. He noted that music fans had been waiting for the release since the Tokyo performance, and that the official launch allows the song to reach listeners outside the festival audience.
SB19 Continues Its Activities in Japan
The collaboration arrives during an active year for SB19’s international career. The group performed at SUMMER SONIC 2026 in Osaka on August 14 and Tokyo on August 15, bringing its music to one of Japan’s major music festivals.
In April, the five members—Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin—also held “Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale.” The large-scale show marked the closing chapter of their three-part music project.
SB19 has also staged headline performances across Asia, North America, and other international markets, adding to its growing audience outside the Philippines.
Kento Nakajima’s Solo Music and Acting Career
Nakajima, also known as “Kenty,” has continued working in music and acting since leaving his former group. He made his solo debut on December 25, 2024, with the album N/bias.
His solo concerts and nationwide tour in Japan have drawn approximately 100,000 attendees combined. He has also performed in Taipei and appeared at Hong Kong’s Clockenflap festival.
In 2026, Nakajima released his third single on August 19. It includes “Oni-gokko,” the opening theme for the second season of the anime Nige Jozu no Wakagimi, and “Fiction Love,” the theme song for the film Love ≠ Comedy, in which he stars.
He is also holding the “IDOL1ST Kento Nakajima LIVE TOUR 2026” in Japan, alongside an Asia tour scheduled to visit Taipei, Bangkok, and Seoul.
Where to Listen to “GENTO feat. Kento Nakajima”
SB19 and Kento Nakajima’s collaboration is now available on digital music platforms worldwide through Sony Music Entertainment.
The release brings together the Filipino group’s established P-Pop sound and Nakajima’s contribution as a Japanese solo artist. It also gives listeners who followed their SUMMER SONIC performance a chance to hear the complete studio collaboration.
