The track draws on reggaeton and Afrobeats, with heavy rhythms and a prominent synth line. Following “baby lika,” Trippie Budd is putting his own spin on club music with two artists who bring different styles to the record.

A Club Sound With Reggaeton and Afrobeats Influences

“cheekybang” centres its sound on rhythm rather than a single genre. Reggaeton and Afrobeats provide key references, while Trippie Budd also draws on Moombahton in his wider musical approach.

The production combines a strong beat, island-inspired rhythms and synth textures. Trippie Budd has pointed to a widened stereo synth as one of the main sounds holding the track together.

That production gives each performer a common backdrop without flattening their individual delivery. The result is a three-artist collaboration designed for loud speakers, parties and nights out, rather than a straightforward solo rap single.

How SAJKA and Zae Became Part of the Track

The idea took shape during the music video shoot for Trippie Budd’s earlier single “baby lika.” He learned that SAJKA would be visiting the set, after already coming across the artist’s music on Spotify’s KALYE playlist.

The connection developed into a collaboration. Sony Music Philippines’ Urban team later suggested bringing Zae into the project, turning the song into a three-way release.

SAJKA works across reggaeton and fusion, while Zae adds another Filipino rap voice. Trippie Budd anchors the track as its lead artist, with the arrangement giving all three performers space rather than treating the guest parts as an afterthought.

JayXagonto and ETRIZZLE Produced “cheekybang”

JayXagonto and ETRIZZLE handled production on the new single. Trippie Budd says JayXagonto worked out most of the instrumental before he requested smaller adjustments while writing the song.

Trippie Budd had already worked with JayXagonto, which helped the creative process move forward. The rapper-producer specifically highlighted the wide synth effect as an important part of getting a full club sound.

The beat is energetic, but the song has a simpler purpose behind it. Trippie Budd says he wants listeners at bars, clubs and beaches to forget their daily problems for a while.

What the Release Says About Trippie Budd’s Direction

Trippie Budd released “baby lika” in 2025 and has continued putting out music in 2026. His catalogue also includes “kula yelo,” “amoy bueno” and “mamacita,” giving listeners other tracks to check alongside “cheekybang.”

For this release, he is interested in how sounds with roots outside the Philippines can sit within local playlists and nightlife. He has described his goal as joining the scene with something different, not claiming ownership of it.

That distinction keeps the focus on collaboration. The song draws from several styles, but its clearest idea is bringing three performers together over a beat aimed at people who want to dance.

Where to Listen to “cheekybang”

“cheekybang” is available on Spotify and Amazon Music. Spotify marks the single as explicit, so listeners may want to check that label before adding the track to a shared playlist.

You can listen to “cheekybang” on Spotify. The release is also listed under Trippie Budd, SAJKA and Zae on other music services.
