The agency also said it hopes fans will keep showing interest in the project. However, it has not yet shared the unit’s name, the album title or an exact release date.

- When: December 2026 (exact date not announced)

Why Fans Call Them the “94z”
Kai and Sehun were both born in 1994. Because of this, fans often call the pair the “94z.” It is a common fan nickname for K-pop idols born in the same year. Some fans also use the names “94-line” or “Gusaengz.” Still, it is only a nickname and not the official name of the new unit.
How Kai and Sehun Have Worked Together
The two have shared the stage and the screen many times. For example, Sehun made a surprise guest appearance at Kai’s solo concert last year, and they performed together.
Then, in January, they reunited on “Jeongwating.” This was a special winter episode of “Jeongwaja,” a web variety show that Kai hosts. The pair has also appeared together in many EXO YouTube videos.
Next, they will travel together on the ENA variety show “World Dice Tour 4.”
A First for Kai
This will be Kai’s first unit project. Sehun, on the other hand, has done this before. He debuted in a unit called EXO-SC with fellow EXO member Chanyeol. In addition, both members recently took part in EXO’s latest comeback, “REVERXE.”
What Is Still Unknown About Kai and Sehun’s Unit
So far, SM Entertainment has only confirmed the basic plan. Several key details have not been shared yet:
- The official name of the unit
- The title of the mini album
- The exact release date in December
- The tracklist and any title song
- Plans for music shows, events or a tour
Because of this, fans should treat any other details shared online as rumours until the agency confirms them.
For now, fans will have to wait a little longer for more details. SM Entertainment has not shared the unit name, album title or release date yet. Until then, you can follow EXO’s official pages for updates on Kai and Sehun’s new unit.
