Fans of George Michael can experience one of his landmark live performances on the big screen. George Michael: The Faith Tour, a newly restored concert film featuring previously unseen footage from his 1988 tour, begins its worldwide theatrical rollout this November.

The film will open exclusively at SM Cinemas in the Philippines on November 11, 2026. Distributed by NBCUniversal, the release gives audiences a chance to revisit the singer’s iconic Faith era through restored concert footage and an original short film by Mary McCartney.

A Restored Concert Film From the 1988 Faith Tour

Filmed at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy during the European leg of the 1988 Faith Tour, the concert captures George Michael at a turning point in his career.

Directed by longtime collaborators Andy Morahan and David Austin, the film was restored and remastered from previously unseen footage. The original material came from a 14-camera shoot recorded on 35mm film over two nights.

The restoration brings renewed clarity to the performances, offering a closer look at George Michael’s voice, stage presence, and artistic vision during the tour.

Mary McCartney Introduces the Film With Finding Faith

The theatrical screening will open with Finding Faith, an original short film by Mary McCartney.

The short film explores the cultural significance of the Faith tour through an unheard interview with George Michael. It also features previously unseen photographs by American photographer Herb Ritts and behind-the-scenes footage from the Faith music video.

The introduction provides additional context before audiences experience the restored concert film.

The Faith Tour Live Album Is Also Out Now

Alongside the film, George Michael Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment have released THE FAITH TOUR, an 18-track live album featuring previously unreleased recordings.

Recorded during George Michael’s groundbreaking world tour, the album includes performances from his Wham! and solo catalogues. It highlights his vocal ability and talent as a live performer.

The live album became available on November 6, 2026.

The Legacy of George Michael’s Faith

Released in 1987, Faith marked a defining point in George Michael’s solo career. Written, arranged, produced, and performed almost entirely by the singer, the album brought together soul, R&B, and rock influences.

It earned him the GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year, three American Music Awards, and four U.S. No. 1 singles: “Faith,” “Father Figure,” “One More Try,” and “Monkey.”

The album sold more than 25 million copies worldwide and topped charts in over 10 countries. Its influence continued across pop music and the MTV generation.

George Michael later became one of the best-selling solo artists of all time, with a career spanning 35 years. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2023.
