Hamilfans, get ready. The filmed version of the Broadway hit Hamilton, starring the original cast including Lin-Manuel Miranda, is coming to Philippine cinemas for a very limited time.

The special cinematic event will run for one week only, starting Wednesday, October 1, 2025. This release celebrates the show’s 10th anniversary. It gives local audiences the chance to see the original 2016 performance, filmed live at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

What Makes This Screening Special

This is the version of Hamilton that features the original, award-winning cast, including Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, and Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton.

The film will also include a brand-new, exclusive prologue titled “Reuniting the Revolution,” with fresh interviews from the original cast and creators reflecting on the show’s impact. Director Thomas Kail said he aimed for the film to capture the feeling of being in the Richard Rodgers Theatre, adding that he is thrilled audiences can now share that experience on the big screen.

A Big Deal for Filipino Fans

Hamilton tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton through a unique score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway.

This cinematic release comes after the successful local stage debut of the musical in 2023 at The Theatre at Solaire, which starred Jason Arrow and Filipina actress Rachelle Ann Go. The high demand for that show proved the strong connection Filipino audiences have with the revolutionary story.

Do not miss your chance to be in the room where it happens.
