Jollibee Investigates Fake Name Allegations After Controversial Raffle Winners’ Announcement
Jollibee is facing scrutiny after its recent raffle announcement sparked a viral controversy. The fast-food giant’s Week 3 winners for the popular “Burger Blowout” promo were met with accusations that the names were suspiciously fake or generated by an AI tool.

The Viral Controversy
On August 15, Jollibee posted the names of the raffle winners on its official Facebook page. However, the names, such as Oral Murphy, Hobby Dynamics, and Alayna Pfannerstill, quickly raised eyebrows. Netizens immediately took to social media to joke that these winners had names straight out of a bot-generated list or that they were cleverly designed pseudonyms. Some speculated that the names belonged to Jollibee employees or affiliates, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the draw.

The reaction was swift and intense, as many accused the company of rigging the raffle. With accusations swirling, the post was quickly deleted, but not before it had been shared widely, sparking debates across social media platforms.
Jollibee’s Response
In response to the growing concerns, Jollibee issued an official statement on Friday, August 15. The company acknowledged the “recent concern” regarding the names of the raffle winners and assured the public that they were reviewing the matter closely.
“We are currently reviewing the matter and working closely with the Department of Trade and Industry,” Jollibee’s statement read. “We have been actively coordinating throughout the course of this promotion.”
The company also made it clear that it would not allow these accusations to undermine the integrity of the promotion. “Please be assured that this will not affect previously declared legitimate winners,” they added.
Postponed Raffles and Public Assurance
Jollibee announced that future raffle draws would be postponed while the investigation was ongoing. Despite the controversy, the company emphasized its commitment to ensuring that only valid entries are considered in the raffle draws. Additionally, Jollibee urged participants not to buy raffle tickets from unauthorized sources, as these were not for sale and could lead to further complications.
One comment humorously referred to the mysterious raffle winners as “confidential fans,” drawing a parallel to the recent “confidential funds” controversy involving Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte. In that case, a non-existent beneficiary named “Mary Grace Piattos” made headlines, further fueling public skepticism.
As of now, Jollibee has yet to address the validity of the names themselves but reassured customers that the company is taking every necessary step to resolve the issue.
What’s Next?
The controversy has left many asking whether this will affect the trust consumers place in the company. While Jollibee’s reputation for tasty fast food remains strong, the integrity of their promotions is now under the microscope. Customers will be watching closely as the company works to clarify the situation and restore faith in its promotional activities.
