After more than a year away from group activities, NewJeans has surprised fans with a new anniversary film series that signals the group’s return as a four-member lineup. Released to celebrate the group’s fourth debut anniversary, the project marks their first official group content since their hiatus and gives fans a glimpse of what’s next.

NewJeans celebrates four years since debut

On July 22, 2026 (KST), NewJeans released a collection of videos and photos titled 2026 Summer of NewJeans across the group’s official social media channels. The anniversary project features Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein, confirming the group’s current four-member lineup. 

The rollout includes:

• A group anniversary film
• Four individual member films
• New promotional photos

According to ADOR, the special film series was created to celebrate the group’s fourth anniversary alongside fans. 

A new chapter for the group

The anniversary content arrives after a lengthy period of uncertainty surrounding NewJeans’ future following legal disputes involving ADOR and Danielle’s departure from the group. While the group’s next music release has not yet been announced, the new films mark the first official content featuring the four members together in over a year. 

ADOR also shared that discussions regarding NewJeans’ future activities are still ongoing and that more details about upcoming promotions will be announced once plans are finalized. 

Fans react to the surprise return

The surprise release quickly gained attention online, with many fans celebrating the return of NewJeans’ signature visual style and cinematic storytelling. Across social media and fan communities, excitement centered on seeing the members together again after months of uncertainty. 

Although many welcomed the group’s return, some fans also shared mixed emotions over the lineup change, making the anniversary release one of the biggest K-pop talking points of the week. 

Is NewJeans making a comeback?

Not officially—at least not yet.

While the anniversary films strongly hint that NewJeans is preparing for a new era, ADOR has not announced a comeback date or new music. The agency says additional activity plans will be revealed after internal discussions are complete.
